Lisa DiTullio, principal of Lisa DiTullio & Associates, is key speaker/presenter at NASA’s 2008 Project Management Challenge
COHASSET, MA, ISSUED MARCH 3, 2008…Lisa DiTullio, principal of Lisa DiTullio & Associates, was a key speaker at the Fifth Annual NASA Project Management Challenge on Tuesday, February 26 at the Hilton Oceanfront Hotel, Daytona Beach, FL.
DiTullio was invited by NASA to be part of this dynamic two-day event which drew more than 1250 attendees, including many members of the NASA community. Her presentation, "Expected Behaviors: Road Rules for Project Team Members-Not Road Rage" was part of the "Dream Teams" track, dedicated to project team dynamics.
The Daytona Beach event is the fifth time that NASA stakeholders have gathered at the PM Challenge to connect, and explore trends in program and project management. The conference theme, “Reach Higher,” was designed to challenge the NASA program and project management community by leveraging the knowledge, ideas and experience of a diverse network of speakers, panelists and participants through the power of knowledge sharing.
DiTullio was one of 65 speakers invited to participate in the two-day event, and her topic was selected from several hundred presentation proposals reviewed by NASA, which came from NASA, private industry, academic and numerous international organizations. Nearly 500 students from Daytona Beach area schools and from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Bethune-Cookman University also attended the event.
“It was an excellent opportunity to be in front of NASA officials and members of the NASA community to talk about the importance of project management and how it can be of direct and immediate benefit to their organization, as well as others,” said DiTullio.
She added, “Organizations are more likely to realize results if they establish straightforward behaviors directly related to improving team dynamics.” Her talk suggested that organizations create measurable behaviors so that staff can easily be held accountable. The presentation informed audience members how to create awareness and instill accountability for team behaviors, which result in improved decisions, efficiency, and business results. DiTullio shared practices identified in her book Simple Solutions: How “Enterprise Project Management” Supported Harvard Pilgrim Health Care from Near Collapse to #1.
